After my extensive introduction to Thai silk in 2019, I have the pleasure of working with this special fabric more often. This included a design for a client who was looking for an outfit for her son’s wedding.
Inspired by the blue pantsuit from the ‘Come Fly with Me’ Collection, we came up with a gown with a belt and matching short jacket.

Outline patterned gown in cotton toile

Application of Japanese Pattern techniques for a graphic effect in the otherwise simple lines of the gown

The outlines of the pattern pieces of the jacket are transferred to the fabric by means of basting threads: embroidery is done within these lines

Embroidery becomes many times more beautiful when you stretch the fabric in a frame. Here you see a large embroidery frame in which the green, Thai silk is stretched

Special note: these sequins were made especially for this order by an artisan family business in France
